On 1 April 2015 a school play entitled:”If Christ were not risen from the dead…” took place at our School.
The spectacle, or in fact the Passion of the Lord was released based on the book by Paul L.Maier “The Goad of Death”.
The main motif of the play was the discovery of the grave with the body of Jesus of Nazareth made by scientists. However, in the final part of the play, we learn that the "discovery" was an ordinary forgery by the researcher who has lost faith in the result of personal experience.
The school play raises issues of human life in today's world, without hope of eternal life. It provokes us to ask ourselves questions about our reactions to the message that Jesus Christ is not risen, that our faith is vain, that teaching is futile, helping other people, doing good, and faith in the mercy and forgiveness became nothing significant.
- Do the mass media have such big impact on us?
- Would we easily believe in pseudo- scientific revelations?
- Yet, would we keep the faith in sharing, so far, the principle that Christ is truly risen, brought us the joy of life and gives us a truly love?
Period of Easter is the perfect time to reflect on the questions asked in this way.
The Catholic Catechists – organizers of the Mystery play wish all of us Happy Easter!
